Governor Gavin Newsom acknowledges Tony Robbins as a major influence in his life, as revealed in his upcoming memoir set to be released at the end of February.
In the memoir, the California Governor opens up about his struggles with dyslexia during his upbringing and the confidence issues that followed.
He shares that at the age of 24, he turned to Robbins’ teachings to help him exude “confidence and authority,” as reported by POLITICO.
“Find a person who embodies all the outward traits of personality, bearing, charisma, language, and power lacking in yourself. Study that person. Copy that person,” Newsom writes, describing his primary takeaway from Robbins’ teachings.
Robbins — whose influence is still evident in Newsom’s public speaking — was recently a guest at the White House for President Trump’s private screening of the documentary Melania.
Interestingly, Robbins was once considered as a potential running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during his presidential campaign.
