Phil Collins Receives Round-the-Clock Care from Live-In Nurse
Phil Collins, the legendary singer behind hits like “In the Air Tonight,” has been receiving round-the-clock care from a live-in nurse to help manage his health conditions, including type 2 diabetes.
Rumors sparked last July that Collins was in hospice care, but his team quickly refuted those claims, clarifying that he was in the hospital for knee surgery and not battling a terminal illness. However, Collins himself admitted that he has been dealing with serious health issues.
One of his ongoing challenges has been his knees, which have required five operations to address. Despite the surgeries, Collins still struggles with mobility and relies on assistance like crutches to walk.
In addition to his knee problems, Collins underwent back surgery in 2015. Describing the procedure, he explained that the doctor had to work on his sciatic nerve and essentially “unscramble the mess” in his back to alleviate his pain.
With a dedicated live-in nurse to ensure he takes his medications as prescribed, Collins is focused on managing his health conditions and continuing to make music. Despite his health challenges, he remains a beloved figure in the music industry and a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
