During a recent discussion about the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election win, George Conway couldn’t resist taking a jab at his ex-wife, Kellyanne Conway.
The conservative lawyer participated in a live recording of Jennifer Rubin’s “Green Room” podcast in New York, where he criticized ABC News’ decision to settle a $15 million defamation case with the president-elect.
Conway expressed doubt about the possibility of Trump winning a libel case, stating, “How do you damage that man’s reputation?” This remark elicited laughter from the audience.
He then went on to explain that there’s a group of people, including himself, who already have a low opinion of Trump and couldn’t think any less of him.
Referring to his ex-wife’s unwavering support for Trump, Conway remarked, “And then there’s the other chunk of people who basically will not believe anything bad — or at least admit to it, like my ex-wife — anything bad about Donald Trump.”
At the beginning of the conversation, both Rubin and Conway joked about potentially facing legal consequences for their comments on Trump’s administration.
The divorce between the Conways was finalized last year after over two decades of marriage. In a joint statement, they emphasized that despite their split, they remain dedicated parents to their four children.
Their differing views on Trump during their marriage raised eyebrows, as George Conway became a vocal critic while Kellyanne continued to support the president.
