Georgia Teen Arrested After Father Turns Him in for Pair of Shootings
A Georgia teen was apprehended on Tuesday in connection with two shootings after his father handed him over to the authorities, as per the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.
Lequan Stephens, aged 16, is facing charges of aggravated assault following the incidents, reported by the Lovejoy Police Department. The initial shooting took place on January 17 in the 2500 block of Lovejoy Crossing Lane.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a juvenile in the front passenger seat of a vehicle who had sustained gunshot wounds to the face and neck. The assailant had fired into the vehicle, hitting the victim before fleeing the scene.
Subsequent investigations identified Stephens as the alleged perpetrator, leading to the issuance of warrants for his arrest. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation also obtained warrants for his involvement in a separate shooting.

In a coordinated effort involving multiple agencies, the sheriff’s department conducted an operation at various residences associated with Stephens’ relatives and acquaintances. Law enforcement made it clear that Stephens would not find refuge and would not receive any assistance.
After evading authorities for over 48 hours, Stephens was eventually surrendered to the police by his father.
