Gerry Turner has found new love following his time on The Golden Bachelor, and he’s ready to introduce her to the world.
After hinting at their romance for several weeks, Gerry revealed his girlfriend’s identity in an interview with TMZ in April 2025, a year after his split from Golden Bachelor winner Theresa Nist.
According to Gerry, he met retired educator Lana Sutton after she reached out to him through direct messages. Although he initially overlooked her first message, her second attempt caught his interest, especially when she mentioned growing up in an Indiana town just 20 minutes away from him. He noted that Lana is in her mid-50s and has previously co-owned a video production company.
He also shared pictures of Lana on Instagram, expressing his surprise at how many locals in Charleston recognized them and sent well wishes.
The response from Bachelor Nation was overwhelming, with well-wishes from Gerry’s previous pursuits, Faith Martin and Susan Noles. “So happy for you both!! ❤️,” Faith commented, while Susan expressed her joy, saying, “So happy for you.”
Theresa shared with Us Weekly that Gerry had informed her about Lana before going public with the relationship. “He told me, ‘I just want to let you know I’ve met someone,’ and I responded, ‘That’s wonderful! I’m glad for you.’ He seemed apprehensive, but I reassured him that I only want him to be happy. Everything happens for a reason, and it looks like he’s found his person after the show,” Nist recounted.

During their initial date in March, Gerry mentioned that they visited a local restaurant and have since become inseparable. In a follow-up interview with TMZ, he confirmed that Lana has met his children, and he has become acquainted with some of her family members as well.
April 2025
Gerry announced his new romance while appearing on the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast.
“I’m dating someone,” he confirmed. “It’s going well, but I don’t want to say too much and jinx it. I’m being respectful of the time since my divorce. Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I want to take this slow.”
He noted that he and the then-unnamed Lana connected over their children and shared interests in travel.
“She’ll ask if I want to join her for something, and before she finishes her sentence, I’m already saying yes,” he shared, adding that he felt an immediate attraction to her.
“It might sound cliché, but from the first moment I met her, there was a spark, a certain look that left a lasting impression. It was unexpected, but the feeling was undeniable,” he reflected.
A few days after his appearance on “Bachelor Happy Hour,” Gerry confirmed Lana’s identity during an interview with TMZ.
Following the reveal, he shared moments from their exchanges on Instagram, noting the warmth they received from the Charleston community.
Lana reciprocated by posting a collection of their getaway memories on her Instagram, captioning it: “A few memories from our first trip to Charleston!”

In an interview with People, Gerry mentioned that marriage could be on the table for him and Lana.
Although he noted, “Neither of us is actively looking to marry, but that possibility remains,” he emphasized their desire for a long-term, committed relationship.
Having both experienced two marriages, with Gerry previously married to his late wife Toni and then to Theresa, he acknowledged that discussions about marriage would take place in time.
“We both want a meaningful and lasting connection, and at this moment, it feels like we’re solidifying that bond,” he explained.

Gerry, who was diagnosed with incurable cancer in 2024, has been sharing memorable moments from his and Lana’s travels on Instagram, stating, “The last couple of months have been filled with adventure, quality time, and gatherings with our families. I’m so thankful for finding such a compassionate partner. She’s truly incredible!”
He indicated to People that the couple plans to visit London and Paris during the summer months.
“We meet up every weekend,” Turner said. “Lana is retired and flexible, so we can see each other easily without work getting in the way. It’s a great arrangement for both of us.”

Gerry proposed to Lana after dating for less than a year.
“We have incredible news; The Golden Bachelor is officially off the market!” he shared through Instagram. “I’ve found my soulmate, and she said ‘YES!’ I’m in love with this amazing woman.”
