In her emotional post, Janet shared, “Early this morning Gil – my soulmate – lost his fight with a rare and viciously aggressive form of cancer. From the moment when we knew something was wrong to his death this morning was only days. No matter how many years I got to spend with him it would have ever been enough. Hold the ones you have tightly and love them fiercely.”
Prior to his passing, Gerard also penned his own poignant statement, which Janet shared on his behalf after his passing. In his message, Gerard reflected on his incredible life journey, expressing gratitude for the love he had given and received, and urging others to prioritize joy and love in their own lives.
“Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” remains one of Gerard’s most iconic roles, running for two seasons from 1979 to 1981. The show followed the adventures of Captain Buck Rogers, a 20th-century astronaut who awakens in the year 2491 after being frozen in space for over 500 years. The series captivated audiences with its futuristic setting and thrilling adventures.
