A horrifying incident occurred in the Bronx last month when a 12-year-old girl was targeted by two heartless thieves who violently stole two necklaces from her as she stepped off a bus in broad daylight. The incident took place on Valentine’s Day near the corner of Stratford Avenue and East 172nd Street in Soundview. The young girl was pushed against a wall by the brazen bandits, who then ripped the valuable necklaces, worth a total of $1,500, right off her neck.
The suspects, both dressed in dark clothing and holding cell phones, quickly fled the scene heading west on East 172nd Street. Photos released by the NYPD captured one of the thieves with a wide grin on his face as he made his escape. The victim, who sources say was attacked shortly after getting off the bus, was treated at the 43rd Precinct stationhouse for redness and pain to her neck.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspects to come forward by calling the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be submitted online through the Crime Stoppers website. It is crucial for the community to come together to help identify and apprehend these dangerous criminals before they can harm anyone else. Let’s work together to make our streets safer for everyone.
