Giuseppe Di Morabito Celebrates 10 Years with The Inner Venus Collection
It’s been a decade since Giuseppe Di Morabito made his debut in the fashion world, and to mark this milestone, he hosted a spectacular event at Milan’s Palazzina Appiani. The venue, with its neoclassical architecture, provided the perfect backdrop for Di Morabito’s latest collection, The Inner Venus.
Instead of the traditional runway show, guests were treated to an intimate dinner followed by a masquerade ball with a white dress code. The designer drew inspiration from Carnival time and wanted to create a symbolic moment during Milan’s winter fashion week. The evening was filled with friends and family, many of whom donned pieces from the brand’s archive.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of The Inner Venus collection, which was displayed on an illuminated staircase overlooking the Arena Civica. Each look was meticulously crafted, with intricate details that showcased Di Morabito’s expertise. Silk tubular elements, hand-stitched and interlaced, formed anatomical surfaces, while gauzed lace was embellished with pearls and wool spheres for added texture.
One of the standout pieces from the collection was a gold garment, a first for the brand, showcasing Di Morabito’s willingness to push boundaries and experiment with new techniques. The overall theme of the collection centered around the tension between masculine tailoring and hyper-feminine construction, resulting in a striking juxtaposition of styles.
Despite the passage of time since his debut in a Milan gypsotheque, Di Morabito’s fascination with the body as sculpture, memory, and fragment remains unchanged. The Inner Venus collection is a testament to his growth as a designer, showcasing a newfound sense of scale and confidence.
