The Golden Bachelor stars Kathy Swarts and Joan Vassos are candidly discussing intimacy after 60.
Kathy, 72, declared, âI havenât lost my sex drive,â during the iHeartRadio podcast episode of âI Do, Part 2â on Saturday, March 28. âYou havenât lost yours,â she added.
Joan, 63, responded, âAbsolutely not. I believe that many lose their sex drive with their spouses as their lives become too intertwined and it becomes a lesser priority. Once that happens, itâs challenging to regain it.â
Kathy, who is still single after her appearance on The Golden Bachelor in 2023, mentioned having several female friends who have lost interest in intimacy.
Kathy, while searching for a new partner, expressed her disconnect with her friendsâ views.
âMany of my friends have asked, âKath, youâre going to date and sleep with guys?ââ she recounted. âI said, âIf I find someone Iâm interested in, Iâm not just going to put up a shingle.â They replied, âI could care less about sex. I donât care if I ever have sex again. I have my kids, my tennis team. I donât care.â I feel like Iâm in the minority.â
Joan, who initially appeared on The Golden Bachelor in 2023 before leading The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, also touched on the subject of âf*** boysâ in the senior community.
Both Bachelor Nation members have encountered men prioritizing sex over relationships.
âRecently, a 30-year-old hit on me and wanted to come up to my hotel room,â Joan, who is engaged to Chock Chapple from Golden Bachelorette, disclosed. âI thought, âThis is not happening.ââ
Kathy commented, âWhen I meet someone, they quickly learn thatâs not my interest. Iâve had men ask, âHey, I find you attractive. Want to just have sex?â My response is no, but thank you for asking.â
Before concluding, Joan and Kathy also delved into the topic of sex toys.
Joan mentioned she hasnât used them, while Kathy informed listeners that these items can offer a different type of intimacy among adults.
âI recently learned that itâs a whole other realm of intimacy with your partner using sex toys,â she explained.
