Introducing Gemini: Google TV Streamer’s New AI Assistant

Google made an exciting announcement on Monday, revealing that Gemini is now being rolled out to the Google TV Streamer, replacing the familiar Google Assistant. This new change is aimed at enhancing the user experience by allowing for more natural voice commands to access content and more.

One of the key features of Gemini is its ability to provide personalized recommendations. Users can now ask complex queries like, “I like dramas but my wife likes comedies. What’s a movie we can watch together?” to receive tailored suggestions for movie nights.

Additionally, users can easily catch up on their favorite shows by asking questions such as, “What happened at the end of Outlander last season?” Gemini also extends beyond entertainment, allowing users to ask a wide range of questions just like they can with Gemini on their phone.

For instance, users can engage in educational activities by asking Gemini to explain concepts to children or guide them through DIY projects with helpful YouTube videos. To access Gemini on the Google TV Streamer, users simply need to press the microphone button on their remote.

The rollout of Gemini on the Google TV Streamer is expected to take place over the next few weeks for users aged 18 and older. This move follows Google’s previous announcement in September regarding the introduction of Gemini for Google TV on select TCL devices.

In addition to the Google TV Streamer, Gemini is also available on the Walmart onn 4K Pro streaming device. This transition from Google Assistant to Gemini is part of Google’s broader strategy to integrate Gemini across all its devices and platforms.

It’s worth noting that Google had already hinted at this change back in January at CES, confirming that Gemini would be making its way to Google TV in the near future. With Gemini now making its debut on the Google TV Streamer, users can look forward to a more intuitive and seamless voice assistant experience.
