Google is set to launch its highly anticipated Pixel 10 smartphone range on 20 August, slightly later than initially expected. Previous reports had suggested a launch date of 13 August, but it seems that the event has been pushed back by a week.
According to Android Headlines, the Pixel 10 series, which includes the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, will be officially unveiled on 20 August. Pre-orders for the devices will begin on the same day, with availability slated for 28 August.
While some had speculated that the Pixel 10 lineup would be introduced earlier, possibly in June, it appears that those predictions were off the mark. The new launch dates align closely with last year’s Pixel 9 series, which was announced on 13 August and released on 22 August.
The design of the Pixel 10 has been largely revealed, and it seems that there will be no major surprises in terms of aesthetics. Following the design overhaul of the Pixel 9, Google is sticking with a similar look and feel for the new devices.
Recent images of what seems to be a Pixel 10 Pro prototype have surfaced, providing a closer look at the upcoming flagship. The leaked photos, shared by tipster Mystic Leaks on a Chinese social media platform, show a device that closely resembles the Pixel 10 Pro, with a few notable tweaks such as a smaller camera bezel and a repositioned SIM tray.
Additionally, the images suggest that the Pixel 10 Pro will be powered by a new Tensor G5 chip, codenamed ‘Blazer’. However, there is some confusion regarding the chip’s manufacturing process, as it is listed as a 5nm chip while expectations were for a more advanced 3nm process.
Other specifications revealed in the leak include 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for the Pixel 10 Pro, mirroring the configuration of its predecessor. These details indicate that while there may be some incremental improvements, the overall design and features of the Pixel 10 series will remain consistent with previous models.
The upcoming launch event promises to showcase Google’s latest innovations in the smartphone market, and fans can look forward to getting their hands on the new Pixel 10 devices later this month.
