Google Pixel users can expect the next major Pixel Drop to arrive in March 2026, according to a report from Tech Advisor. This update is anticipated to bring several new features, including a virtual home button similar to Samsung devices, an adjustable flashlight, and the option to remove the ‘At a Glance’ widget.
Since launching Pixel Drops in December 2019, Google has been dedicated to enhancing the Pixel experience with regular feature additions. The company initially introduced feature drops to provide users with more helpful and enjoyable features on a regular basis, in addition to the monthly performance and security updates that Pixel phones already received.
In the past, Google followed a quarterly update schedule for Pixel Drops, releasing major feature updates every three months. However, in October 2023, Google announced a shift away from this fixed schedule. Instead of waiting for a specific day each month, updates are now deployed as soon as they have completed necessary testing.
Throughout 2024 and 2025, Google increased the frequency of Pixel Drops, delivering new features to Pixel devices more regularly. While the updates were not on a consistent monthly basis, users began to see new Android features added to their Pixel phones more frequently.
Looking ahead, the next Pixel Drop is expected to launch in March 2026. Google recently released the Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 for developers in December, indicating that the final stable version will be available to all eligible Pixel users according to the existing quarterly schedule. The company typically releases Pixel Drops “every few months,” with the next update likely to bring a variety of new features to Pixel devices.
Some of the features expected in the March Pixel Drop include the option for a virtual home button layout similar to Samsung devices, an adjustable flashlight, the ability to remove the At a Glance widget, a new location sharing indicator, a new folder animation, and GPU upgrades for the Pixel 10.
As the release date approaches, users can anticipate additional beta versions with more new features added. The March Pixel Drop is poised to continue Google’s commitment to enhancing the Pixel experience with regular updates and feature additions for users to enjoy. Stay tuned for more information as the rollout date draws closer.
