Google AI Mode

2:18 PM PDT · September 23, 2025

Google Search has officially expanded its innovative AI Mode feature, designed to enhance search functionality, to Spanish-language users, according to a recent announcement from the company. This rollout enables a more interactive experience, allowing users to engage in natural language dialogue, ask questions, upload images, and explore intricate topics in a conversational manner.

This introduction follows Google’s significant AI Mode expansion in August, where the feature became available to an additional 180 countries after initially being limited to the U.S., U.K., and India. The August expansion also brought advanced AI capabilities to Google AI Ultra subscribers, including the ability to book restaurant reservations through AI Mode, with plans for further support for other appointment types and event ticket purchases anticipated in the near future.

In addition to AI Mode’s expansion, Google continues to introduce AI capabilities across all its products. These implementations included an announcement on the same day regarding conversational photo editing being made available to all Android users in the U.S. Likewise, Google’s more affordable Google AI Plus subscription, which was first launched in Indonesia, is now extending to 40 more countries. This follows OpenAI’s recent introduction of its ChatGPT Go plan, which debuted in India in August and made its way to Indonesia on Tuesday.

The ChatGPT Go plan serves as a mid-tier offering that provides users with a significantly higher usage limit compared to the free version, allowing for a tenfold increase in interactions, image generation, and file uploads. OpenAI claims that this plan enhances the model’s ability to retain and recall prior conversations, fostering a more personalized user experience over time.

Earlier this month, Google announced additional language support for AI Mode, which now includes Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.

As Google continues to evolve its offerings, users may wonder about the distinctions between different features like AI Mode and AI Overviews. While AI Mode creates an engaging and immersive conversational experience with Gemini AI, AI Overviews provide quicker, AI-generated summaries related to search queries at the forefront of Google Search results.
