Google Reveals Pricing for Veo 2 Video-Generating AI Model

Google has officially announced the pricing for Veo 2, the highly anticipated video-generating AI model that was first introduced in December. According to the company’s pricing page, users can expect to pay 50 cents per second of video generated by Veo 2. This translates to $30 per minute or a hefty $1,800 per hour of video content.

Comparing this pricing structure to the production costs of blockbuster movies like “Avengers: Endgame,” Google DeepMind researcher Jon Barron highlighted the significant difference. The Marvel movie reportedly had a production budget of $356 million, equating to roughly $32,000 per second of footage.

While the cost of using Veo 2 may seem steep, it’s essential to note that customers may not utilize every second of generated video content. Additionally, Veo 2 is designed to create shorter clips, with Google emphasizing its ability to produce videos that are two minutes or longer.

For those looking for an alternative, OpenAI recently introduced its Sora video generation model as part of a ChatGPT Pro subscription, priced at $200 per month. This provides users with another option for generating video content through AI technology.
