The Los Angeles Dodgers are currently facing a challenging situation with injuries to several of their pitchers as they gear up for the postseason. With key players like Tyler Glasnow and Gavin Stone unlikely to return for the 2024 season, the team is struggling to maintain a strong pitching staff.

In addition to Glasnow and Stone, pitchers like Clayton Kershaw and Tony Gonsolin are also dealing with injuries and are on the road to recovery. Former LA Angels manager Joe Maddon recently commented on the Dodgers’ pitching woes, pointing out that the team lacks enough starters and their bullpen is being worn out due to the lack of depth.

The Dodgers made some questionable signings with pitchers who have a history of injuries, leading to players like Emmet Sheehan and River Ryan being out for the season after undergoing surgeries. Dustin May, who has also been plagued by injuries in the past, is currently sidelined after undergoing surgery for an esophageal tear.

Maddon also highlighted the issue of pitchers chasing velocity, which he believes is leading to an increase in injuries due to poor pitching mechanics. Dodgers President of Baseball Operations Andrew Friedman acknowledged the challenges the team has faced with pitching injuries this season and emphasized the need to address these issues moving forward.

Despite these setbacks, the Dodgers are still leading the NL West with an impressive record of 90 wins and 62 losses. They are set to face the Miami Marlins in a three-game series finale after splitting the first two games.

As the postseason approaches, the Dodgers will need to find solutions to their pitching problems to ensure they remain competitive in the playoffs. With a strong lineup and solid defense, the team will look to overcome their injury struggles and make a deep run in the postseason.
