The Green Berets, who fought alongside Abdul Rahman Waziri in Afghanistan, are now seeking justice for their fallen comrade who was tragically killed in a dispute over a parking spot in Houston, Texas. Waziri, a former member of the elite Afghan National Mine Removal Group, had bravely served alongside American forces in the War on Terror before relocating to the US as a refugee in 2021.

The senseless altercation that led to Waziri’s death saw the shooter walk away from the initial argument, only to return with a gun and fatally shoot Waziri as he pleaded for his life. Despite the shooter confessing to the crime, no charges have been filed, leaving Waziri’s family and fellow soldiers outraged at the lack of justice in the case.

Security camera footage captured the alleged killer nonchalantly walking away from the scene of the crime, adding to the frustration of those seeking accountability for Waziri’s death. The shooter remains free, living in the same apartment complex where the tragic incident took place.

Members of the military who served with Waziri remember him as a hero and a peacemaker, someone who risked his life to protect others both in Afghanistan and the US. His death has left a void in their hearts, with many expressing disbelief that a man of Waziri’s caliber could meet such a violent end in a country he had bravely served.

Waziri’s widow, now left to care for their two young daughters, has been forced to seek refuge with family members due to safety concerns in Houston. The tragic irony of Waziri fleeing the Taliban in Afghanistan only to be killed in a parking lot in the US has left his loved ones and comrades questioning the lack of justice in his case.

Former colleagues and friends of Waziri have come together to demand justice for him, highlighting his selfless service and dedication to helping others, even in the face of danger. They are calling on city officials to investigate the circumstances surrounding Waziri’s death and ensure that his family receives the justice they deserve.

The story of Abdul Rahman Waziri serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Afghan allies who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with American forces in the fight against terrorism. His legacy as a warrior and a peacemaker lives on in the hearts of those who knew and respected him, and they are determined to see that his memory is honored with the justice he deserves.
