On Friday’s episode of *The Five* on FOX News, Greg Gutfeld took a moment to remind viewers and his co-hosts that mainstream media has yet to issue a public apology for their missteps regarding Trump and the 2020 election. He also highlighted their failure to retract any of the numerous anti-Trump conspiracy theories that have circulated over the years.

With a mix of humor and pointed critique, Gutfeld asserted that the media should be held accountable for their past errors, even whimsically suggesting they should “eat their words,” perhaps through cookies emblazoned with their misguided statements. Beneath the jest, Gutfeld’s message was clear: the media operates without any acknowledgment of its mistakes, rapidly pivoting to new sensational stories aimed at energizing Democratic voters.

The Daily Caller provides further insights:

During the discussion, Gutfeld addressed fellow panelist and former Democratic Tennessee Representative Harold Ford Jr., asserting that it is crucial for President Trump and his conservative allies to remind the legacy media of their inaccuracies.

A 2017 Harvard study revealed that during Trump’s first 100 days in office, CNN and NBC delivered over 90% negative coverage, illustrating a persistent anti-Trump bias in legacy media. While reflecting on Trump’s recent comments regarding the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Ford expressed a desire for the president to avoid personal attacks amidst ongoing legal challenges stemming from the previous administration’s DOJ.

“If you think media is fake, what do you think about the people? Where do you think historians come from? They originate from media. So we have to address this. No one else will do it for us,” Gutfeld stated.

“What you don’t hear in the current discourse is the silence from those in media who sought to undermine him. They aren’t owning up to their mistakes. You won’t hear them say, ‘Oops, we were wrong. Biden has dementia!’ They’ve vanished from the conversation,” Gutfeld added. “They’ve retreated into the shadows.”

It’s apparent that the majority of individuals in the media have gleaned little wisdom from the events surrounding the 2024 election. This is likely one reason their viewership has plummeted and will probably continue to do so in the near future.
