‘Hacks’ Renewed for Fifth Season on Max
Exciting news for fans of the hit comedy series “Hacks” as it has been officially renewed for a fifth season on Max. The announcement was made by creators and showrunners Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky at a special screening event in Los Angeles.
The renewal comes on the heels of the Season 4 finale, which aired on Thursday. Warner Bros. Discovery reported that Season 4 has been the most-watched season of the series so far, with each episode drawing in more viewers than the last.
“Hacks” follows the dynamic relationship between legendary comedian Deborah Vance, played by Jean Smart, and up-and-coming comedy writer Ava Daniels, played by Hannah Einbinder. The latest season, which premiered on April 10, sees the two characters at odds as Deborah takes on the role of a late-night talk show host and Ava manipulates her way into a head writing position.
In addition to Smart and Einbinder, the talented cast includes Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo.
The show is executive produced by Downs and Aniello through their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, and Morgan Sackett. Universal Television serves as the studio for the series.
