Halle Berry celebrated her 60th birthday with a “magical” trip to Mexico alongside her fiancé, Van Hunt.
On Wednesday, August 19, the Oscar-winning actress posted a series of personal photos on Instagram, showcasing moments with Hunt, 56, as they enjoyed sunbathing, yacht sightseeing, and poolside relaxation at a resort in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Berry expressed her gratitude on Instagram, saying, “Some experiences stay with you forever.” She thanked @zadunreserve and @ritzcarltonreserve for making her birthday celebration “simply magical.”
The X-Men actress detailed some of the delightful activities she experienced with Hunt during their getaway.
She described the food, Sensei wellness spa, wine-making experience, and boat trips as “beyond exquisite,” adding that this milestone birthday, celebrated with @vanhunt, was unforgettable. She also acknowledged @gigioromero and Christian for making the occasion extra enjoyable.
As Berry turned 60 officially on Friday, August 14, she thanked her fans for their “birthday love.”
“Thank you from my ❤️ for all the birthday love and well wishes. I’m grateful to still be here,” she wrote on Instagram that Friday.
Before reaching this milestone, Berry reflected on turning 60 during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle in May.
“[I feel] great, because, you know, the opposite would be tragic if I weren’t here,” she remarked. “I feel different than I thought I would feel at 60. What is 60? What is age anymore? It’s a feeling.”
Berry continued, “I feel stronger, smarter, wiser, more myself, more in control. I’m the best version of myself at this time in my life and I am so glad that I’m still here and healthy.”
The Monster’s Ball actress also reflected on her nearly 40-year-long career since her screen debut in 1989’s Living Dolls.
“I’m still alive in it. I haven’t gone off into the sunset,” she noted. “I haven’t fallen off. I’m still here doing it on my own terms.”
Berry shared another significant milestone earlier this year when she confirmed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February that she was engaged to Hunt after six years of dating.
“There’s some confusion that he asked to marry me and I said no. I did not say no,” she clarified. “We just don’t have a date. But of course I said yes, I would marry him!”
Berry showed off her diamond engagement ring, affirming, “He did put a little ring on it.”
The actress was previously married to baseball star David Justice from 1993 to 1997 and later to singer Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005. More recently, Berry was married to Olivier Martinez from 2013 to 2016. (She shares an 18-year-old daughter, Nahla Ariela Aubry, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and a 12-year-old son, Maceo-Robert Martinez, with Olivier.)
