Halle Berry’s custody battle with ex-husband Olivier Martinez has taken a dramatic turn as she accuses him of conspiring with her former nanny to make false reports. The Hollywood actress made these allegations after Martinez requested her to produce text messages exchanged with Miryam Haziza, the ex-employee, as well as any non-disclosure agreements signed by the nanny.
In response to Martinez’s requests, Berry’s lawyer revealed that Haziza had not been working for Berry since it was discovered that she was conspiring with Martinez and another former employee, Erica Simamora, without Berry’s knowledge. The lawyer stated that Haziza was transmitting information from Martinez to Simamora regarding their son Maceo’s therapy.
Berry and Martinez share an 11-year-old son named Maceo, and Berry also has a 16-year-old daughter, Nahla, with her ex Gabriel Aubry. Martinez’s lawyer continued to communicate with Haziza and his counsel while refusing to engage in discussions with Berry’s counsel about her intended testimony.
Additionally, Simamora’s testimony was deemed relevant as Martinez had persuaded her to contact Maceo’s therapist while employed by Berry, with the aim of interfering with Maceo’s therapeutic process. Berry’s attorney accused Martinez of attempting to turn the custody battle into a circus and engaging in gamesmanship at Berry’s expense.
As the legal battle continued, Berry was expected to call her boyfriend, Van Hunt, to testify on her behalf. Court documents revealed that Hunt would discuss his observations regarding Berry’s co-parenting efforts with Martinez and his attempts to promote co-parenting between the former couple. Despite agreeing to pay Martinez $8,000 a month in child support and participating in co-parenting therapy sessions, Martinez had a provision added that Hunt could not take part in the sessions. The custody battle between Berry and Martinez continues to unfold with new twists and turns. Earlier this year, the Never Let Go star, Halle Berry, accused her ex-partner, Olivier Martinez, of bailing on their co-parenting therapy sessions, despite their prior agreement. This revelation shed light on the ongoing custody battle between the former couple, who share a son together.
In response to Berry’s accusations, Martinez’s attorney fired back, claiming that Berry was seeking “new, extraordinary and draconian relief” by requesting sole legal custody over their son’s mental health and educational decisions. The attorney also accused Berry of trying to rush into a hearing after a previous motion for emergency orders was denied in July.
The lawyer further alleged that Berry was making it difficult for Martinez to defend himself by refusing his request for financial assistance with legal fees. Despite Berry’s significant earnings, Martinez claimed he did not have sufficient funds to cover his legal expenses.
The judge overseeing the case recently ordered both Berry and Martinez to refrain from discussing child custody issues with their son and from making negative comments about each other or their new partners in front of him. This directive aims to protect the child from the ongoing conflict between his parents.
Berry and Martinez were married from 2013 to 2016, and their custody battle has been ongoing since their separation. The former couple’s struggles highlight the challenges of co-parenting after a breakup and the importance of effective communication and cooperation for the well-being of the child.
As the legal battle continues, both parties will need to navigate the complexities of co-parenting while also addressing their personal differences. Hopefully, they can find a resolution that prioritizes their son’s best interests and allows them to move forward in a positive and constructive manner.
