A predator has been on a disturbing spree in Brooklyn, targeting women of all ages in a series of sexual assaults over the past three weeks. The incidents have left the community on edge and law enforcement authorities on high alert.
The first attack occurred in Dumbo on March 19, when a 30-year-old woman was ambushed from behind near Gold and Front streets at 6:45 a.m. The assailant grabbed her waist and forced himself onto her before fleeing the scene, leaving the victim traumatized.
Just 11 days later, the predator struck again, this time assaulting a 21-year-old woman near Middagh and Willow streets. He pinned her down by wrapping his arms and legs around her in a brazen display of lewd behavior that left the victim in shock.
On March 30, the predator targeted another woman, this time a 34-year-old, near Henry and Joralemon streets at 10:30 p.m. The victim was subjected to the same disgusting behavior as the previous assaults, highlighting the brazen and predatory nature of the attacker.
By the early hours of Wednesday, the predator struck once more, this time targeting a 60-year-old woman in Fort Greene near Fulton Street and Ashland Place. The victim was molested as she was walking, adding to the growing list of victims in the predator’s wake.
Despite the traumatic experiences faced by the victims, no physical injuries were reported in any of the incidents. However, the emotional toll on the victims and the community at large cannot be understated.
Authorities have released a video of the suspect in hopes of identifying and apprehending him. The footage shows the predator entering a bodega wearing a black hoodie, jacket, sweatpants, and bright white sneakers. Another image captures him wearing bright red sweatpants, providing additional clues for the public to assist in the investigation.
Anyone with information on the crime pattern or the identity of the suspect is urged to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or 1-888-57-PISTA (74782) for Spanish speakers.
