Nebraska volleyball player Maisie Boesiger recently bid farewell to the program after four years with the Huskers, leaving behind a legacy that won’t be forgotten. The libero, who joined Nebraska in 2022 after a successful junior career at Norris High School, made a significant impact during her time with the team.
In her freshman season, Boesiger showcased her skills by recording three aces, six set assists, and 12 digs in 23 matches. Over the next three years, she continued to excel and solidify her place as a key player for the Huskers. Boesiger’s contributions were recognized with accolades such as the 2025 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and multiple Big Ten Distinguished Scholar awards.
As she prepared to say goodbye to Nebraska Volleyball, Boesiger took to Instagram to express her gratitude, writing, “Dear Nebraska Volleyball, Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the memories, my best friends, unforgettable experiences, and the best 4 years I could ever imagine.”
Her teammates, including Harper Murray, Bergen Reilly, and Allie Sczech, responded with messages of love and support, showing just how much Boesiger meant to the team. Other Nebraska Volleyball players also showered her with affection and well-wishes, highlighting the strong bond they shared on and off the court.
Apart from Boesiger’s farewell, Nebraska Volleyball also made waves at the 2025 AVCA Positional Awards. Andi Jackson was named Middle Blocker of the Year for her outstanding performance, boasting impressive stats like 2.74 kills per set on .467 hitting and 1.12 blocks per set. Jackson’s hitting average was the highest in the nation for the season, earning her a spot on the AVCA All-America First Team and the All-Big Ten First Team.
Meanwhile, Bergen Reilly was honored as Setter of the Year for her exceptional skills on the court. With a .351 hitting percentage, 10.47 assists per set, and 2.70 digs per set, Reilly proved to be a valuable asset to the team. Her impressive season included 73 kills, 67 blocks, and 19 aces, solidifying her reputation as one of the top setters in the game.
Despite the disappointment of their loss to Texas A&M in the Regional Finals, Nebraska Volleyball can take pride in the individual achievements of their players and the strong bonds forged within the team. As they look towards the future, the Huskers will undoubtedly continue to make their mark in the world of collegiate volleyball.
