CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten brought attention to a significant shift in public opinion regarding one of Donald Trump’s key policies: deportations.
Enten highlighted the drastic change in support for Trump’s deportation agenda, which has dropped from a positive 18 points in February 2025 to a negative 8 points currently, as reported on “News Central.”
This shift indicates that “the Trump administration, and Trump himself, have lost the support of the majority of voters when it comes to a crucial aspect of his presidency,” Enten explained.
Host John Berman pointed out that while Trump initially garnered widespread approval for his pledge to rid the country of dangerous criminals, the public no longer believes that this is the policy’s primary objective.
Enten attributed this significant change in polling to surveys that revealed 74% of Americans feel that Trump has failed to deliver on his promise to lower prices.
He emphasized the danger of this perception, stating, “The American people elected Donald Trump with the expectation of lower prices, and they now perceive that he is overly focused on deporting undocumented individuals, which is detrimental politically.”
