A man in Chicago named Andrew Brierly has been charged with two counts of criminal damage for breaking windows at the Trump International Hotel & Tower. According to a Chicago police report, Brierly caused $145,000 in damages by throwing stones at the building on two separate occasions this year.

The first incident occurred on May 17, when Brierly broke windows at the hotel, resulting in $65,000 in damages. The second incident took place on October 16, where he broke six windows, causing $80,000 in damages. A security officer at the hotel recognized Brierly and informed the police, leading to his arrest at his Rogers Park home.

During questioning, Brierly told officers that he breaks windows at the hotel whenever he sees former President Trump while experiencing a mental health episode. He was released by Judge Deidre Dyer to await trial.

This isn’t the first time someone has gotten into trouble for damaging the Trump property. In October 2017, a man named Holdson Marcelin trashed the hotel’s 16th-floor restaurant, causing $14,000 in damages. Marcelin eventually pleaded guilty in June 2023 and received a one-year sentence, which was satisfied by time spent in custody.

In another incident in March 2017, a man named Robert Heath skipped out on a $1,838.90 bar tab at Trump Tower Terrace. He also scammed two other businesses within a week and remains at large with an active arrest warrant.

It’s clear that damaging the Trump property has consequences, and individuals like Brierly, Marcelin, and Heath have faced legal repercussions for their actions. The incidents serve as a reminder that destructive behavior is not tolerated, regardless of the motivations behind it.
