It’s hard to believe someone could stoop this low.
A ruthless individual in Brooklyn demonstrated a shocking lack of morals when he terrorized a 10-year-old boy at knifepoint, forcing the innocent child to hand over $20 from his cherished piggy bank, according to police reports.
The frightening encounter took place near the home of young Amir Nur, who was followed home from school on Wednesday.
Amir was so intimidated by the assailantâs knife and aggressive demands that he retreated into his home, retrieved his piggy bank, and came out with the money he had meticulously saved from chores and good behavior, in a bank that said âSomeone who lives me went to Las Vegas.â
âThe man shadowed him right to our door. Amir then grabbed some cash from his piggy bank and brought it out to the man, who then walked away,â his mother, Nicole Edite, recounted to The Post.
âHe realized the man was armed with a knife and was scared. He just wanted to make the man go away,â Edite added. âHe said, âMom, I just wanted to get him away.ââ
This appalling incident unfolded while Edite was out exchanging her cellphone.
Amir, a sixth grader, had only been permitted to walk home alone for a week before this terrifying event. Now, Edite insists he must be accompanied until the suspect is caught.

âHeâs a little upset that he canât go to school alone anymore,â Edite commented.
The boy explained to reporters that he felt he had no option other than to give away his money.
âThatâs why I complied. Because if they have a knife, I donât have anything to protect myself. Heâs bigger than me and has a weapon,â Nur shared with ABC News.
While the NYPD is actively searching for the perpetrator, Deputy Mayor Kaz Daughtry has generously gifted Nur an iPad and reimbursed him for his lost money. Usually, the 10-year-old earns his allowance through good grades, tidying his room, and waking up for school on time.
âWhat kind of person would rob a 10-year-old?â Daughtry remarked to WABC.
Having lived in Crown Heights for two decades, Edite expressed concern over the rising crime rates in her neighborhood.
âItâs genuinely shocking to think he was just crossing the street in broad daylight and someone approached him so aggressively,â Edite stated. âI used to feel safe, but now Iâm having doubts.â
