Hero Lobby Greeter Saves Lives in Midtown Shooting
Amidst a hail of bullets, Andre Morris, a courageous greeter in the lobby at 345 Park Ave., became a hero by saving eight lives during last week’s tragic mass shooting.
When the gunman, Shane Tamura, opened fire in the high-rise building, Morris swiftly ushered a group of workers into a closet, shielding them from harm.

Despite his brave actions, Morris humbly stated, “I just did my job. I’m not a hero. I am completely devastated by the tragic and senseless deaths.”
Morris, who has been working for building owner Rudin Management for a decade, displayed immense courage during the deadliest mass shooting in New York City in a quarter century.
As the events unfolded, Morris heard gunshots, took swift action, and led the workers to safety, all while ensuring their silence and cooperation.

His quick thinking and adherence to security protocols were praised by a Rudin Management security source, who emphasized the importance of the lobby ambassadors in the building’s security measures.
As the community continues to mourn the lives lost in the tragic incident, Morris stands as a beacon of hope and bravery in the face of adversity.
