As reported, the much-discussed Schumer Shutdown commenced at 12:01 AM after two attempts to prevent the federal government from halting its operations failed in the Senate.

Both proposals required 60 votes for passage. The Republican-backed initiative was defeated with a vote tally of 55-45, with Senator Rand Paul siding with the Democrats.

In a curious twist, the Democratic Party and Paul chose to prioritize healthcare for undocumented immigrants over maintaining government functions.

In a classic political maneuver, Hillary Clinton laid blame at the feet of President Trump, accusing him of using the government shutdown as leverage while making misleading claims about his intentions to increase healthcare costs. She capped off her critique with the declaration that, “we have no kings” in America.

“Trump’s aim is to hold the government hostage until Democrats accede to raising healthcare expenses for millions and grant him more unchecked authority,” she tweeted. “But health care is a human right.”

In the era of rapid social media feedback, users immediately challenged Clinton, reminding her that her previous stance on healthcare for undocumented immigrants aligned closely with Trump’s. Many circulated a video from Libs of TikTok showcasing Clinton’s earlier congressional testimony, where she argued against providing healthcare to undocumented workers, citing fears of encouraging illegal immigration. The irony was palpable.
