In an unprecedented move, the Department of Justice under the Trump administration announced on Wednesday that it is pursuing terrorism charges against alleged Antifa militants for the first time in history.
According to Fox News, a federal grand jury has indicted two individuals associated with Antifa following a July 4th incident involving an attack on an ICE facility in Texas.
Previous reports from The Gateway Pundit have indicated that ten individuals orchestrated a coordinated assault on ICE officers in Alvarado, Texas, which appears to be linked to a North Texas Antifa cell.
The criminal complaint details that the defendants, clad in military-style black clothing, launched fireworks toward the facility in what has been characterized as an organized action.
Among those identified by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas are Cameron Arnold, known as “Autumn Hill,” Savannah Batten, Nathan Baumann, Zachary Evetts, Joy Gibson, Bradford Morris, Maricela Rueda, Seth Sikes, Elizabeth Soto, and Ines Soto. All of them face charges of attempted murder.
However, Arnold and Evetts are now facing even more severe accusations, having been charged with providing material support for terrorism, attempted murder of federal officers, and discharging firearms in the course of these alleged attempted murders.
FBI Director Kash Patel took to social media to celebrate this historic development, declaring, “First time ever: the FBI arrested Antifa-aligned anarchist violent extremists and terrorism charges have been brought for the July 4 Prairieland ICE attack in Texas.” He further emphasized, “Under President Trump’s new authorities we’ve made 20+ arrests; no one gets to harm law enforcement. Not on my watch.”

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi responded to this landmark announcement by reiterating that her office intends to continue prosecuting these individuals. She stated, “As @POTUS has made clear, Antifa is a left-wing terrorist organization. They will be prosecuted as such.”

Such charges were made possible by President Trump’s recent designation of Antifa as a terrorist organization, reflecting a hardline approach towards domestic groups that he perceives as radical.
Trump previously stated, “I am pleased to inform our many U.S.A. Patriots that I am designating ANTIFA, A SICK, DANGEROUS, RADICAL LEFT DISASTER, AS A MAJOR TERRORIST ORGANIZATION. I will also be strongly recommending that those funding ANTIFA be thoroughly investigated in accordance with the highest legal standards and practices. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” This proclamation was shared on Truth Social.
