Former child star Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for his role as Brad Taylor on the popular sitcom “Home Improvement,” has found himself in legal trouble once again. The 43-year-old actor was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on Thursday and charged with second-degree domestic violence. He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond.
This is not the first time Bryan has had a brush with the law. In October, he was arrested in Oklahoma for driving under the influence and driving without a valid license. Just eight months prior, he had been arrested on similar charges. Additionally, in February 2021, Bryan was charged with felony assault, third-degree robbery, and assault in Oregon after allegedly strangling his then-girlfriend, Johnny Faye Cartwright. Despite pleading guilty to felony assault in the fourth degree and serving a brief prison sentence, Bryan was arrested again in July 2023 on a second domestic assault charge.
Bryan rose to fame as Brad Taylor on “Home Improvement,” where he played the eldest son of Tim Allen’s character for all eight seasons of the show. Starting his career at the age of nine, Bryan also appeared in movies like “First Kid” and made guest appearances on popular TV shows such as “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and “Reading Rainbow.” After his time on “Home Improvement,” Bryan continued to act in projects like “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift,” “Smallville,” “Veronica Mars,” and “Burn Notice” before retiring from acting in 2009.
Despite his past successes in the entertainment industry, Zachery Ty Bryan’s recent legal troubles have overshadowed his acting career. Fans and colleagues alike are left wondering about the future of the former child star as he navigates the consequences of his actions.
