“Honkai: Star Rail” gamers all over the globe will have the chance to enjoy a limited-time free subscription to Sony’s anime streaming service, Crunchyroll‘s premium plan.
This collaboration kicks off right as “Honkai: Star Rail” unveils its new game update on November 5, Version 3.7 “As Tomorrow Became Yesterday,” which introduces fresh content and the 5-star character Cyrene (Remembrance).
Through an agreement between “Honkai: Star Rail” publisher HoYoverse and Crunchyroll, qualifying players can gain access to a 14-Day Mega Fan Free Trial for Crunchyroll Premium from November 6 to January 27. This offer, which extends the usual 7-day free trial provided by Crunchyroll) will be activated by linking a player’s “Honkai: Star Rail” account with their Crunchyroll account.
Currently, Crunchyroll subscriptions are available at a rate of $7.99 per month for the basic tier (Fan), $11.99 for the mid-tier (Mega Fan), and $15.99 for the highest tier (Ultimate Fan).
Furthermore, commissioned fan work titled “Chimerric Park” dedicated to “Honkai: Star Rail” will be released exclusively on Crunchyroll for a period of two weeks. According to HoYoverse and Crunchyroll, “The exclusive launch highlights this heartfelt display of fandom, showcasing vibrant, dynamic art from across the globe alongside the finest anime.”
Both new and existing players who connect their accounts within “Honkai: Star Rail” and Crunchyroll can also receive in-game rewards such as Stellar Jades and Lost Crystals.
Excluded regions from this offer include China, Japan, Russia, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, the Ukrainian territories of Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk, as well as Iran and Syria.
“Our research indicates that nearly 80% of anime enthusiasts engage with anime-themed or related games, and 40% of our audience spends over 20 hours a week playing culturally significant games like Honkai: Star Rail,” stated Terry Li, Crunchyroll’s executive vice president of emerging business. “By providing in-game rewards to Crunchyroll Members, we aim to elevate their gaming experiences and create enticing moments for them to dive into titles that resonate with our community.”
