Honor recently unveiled its latest foldable device, the Honor Magic V6, showcasing impressive features such as a massive 6,600 mAh battery and a sturdy new hinge just before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.
The company has been focused on demonstrating its ability to create ultra-thin foldables, with the Magic V6 measuring at 4mm thick when unfolded and 8.75 mm thick when folded. This slight reduction in thickness compared to the previous Magic V5 model highlights Honor’s commitment to innovation in design.
One of the standout features of the Honor Magic V6 is its 6,600 mAh battery, a significant upgrade from last year’s 5,820 mAh capacity. With the inclusion of Honor’s SuperCharge technology, the device can achieve rapid charging speeds of 80W through a wired connection and 66W wirelessly. Additionally, the introduction of Silicon-carbon battery technology with 32% silicon density opens the possibility of exceeding 7,000 mAh in future foldable phone batteries.
The phone boasts a 7.95-inch main AMOLED display with a resolution of 2352 x 2172 pixels and a 6.52-inch cover display with a resolution of 2420 x 1080 pixels. Both screens support LTPO 2.0 technology, allowing for variable refresh rates between 1-120Hz for optimal performance and energy efficiency in various usage scenarios.
Honor has also made advancements in the durability of the Magic V6 with the introduction of a new Super Steel Hinge boasting a tensile strength of 2,800 MPa. This enhanced hinge design ensures long-term reliability, while a 44% reduction in crease depth contributes to a smoother display experience. The device also features a new anti-reflective coating on the external screen, offering a reflectivity rating of just 1.5%.
Under the hood, the Honor Magic V6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, coupled with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone houses a triple rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel main camera, a 64-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. On the front, dual 20-megapixel cameras provide high-quality selfie capabilities.
In a bid to enhance user experience, Honor has implemented features to facilitate seamless connectivity with Apple devices. The Magic V6 enables two-way notification sync with iPhones and supports notifications on the Apple Watch. Additionally, users can easily share files with Macs and use the device as an extended display.
While pricing details for the Honor Magic V6 have not been disclosed, the device is set to launch in select international markets in the second half of the year. Stay tuned for more updates on this cutting-edge foldable device from Honor.
