Norway’s Gudny Hummelvoll and Estonian producer Jevgeni Supin have been selected as the recipients of this year’s Honorary TV Beats Producer Awards. The TV Beats Forum, part of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, will present the awards on Nov. 18, followed by a discussion with the winners.
The decision to honor both producers this year highlights the crucial role that producers play in the audiovisual industry. Without their dedication, enthusiasm, and creativity, much of the content that audiences enjoy would not exist. Petri Kemppinen and Roosa Toivonen, co-heads of Tallinn’s TV Beats Forum, emphasized the importance of recognizing producers from smaller countries who have succeeded in producing high-quality content with global appeal.
Gudny Hummelvoll, the founder and CEO of Hummelfilm, has established herself as a leader in Norway’s thriving production sector. Her work on series like “Occupied” and “Billionaire Island” has garnered critical acclaim and international recognition. Hummelvoll’s ability to tell locally-rooted stories with global appeal has set her apart in the industry.
Jevgeni Supin, a heavyweight producer from Estonia, has also made a name for himself with successful international co-productions. His series “Von Fock” and “My Dear Mother” have been praised for their high production values and engaging storytelling. Supin’s commitment to supporting fellow producers and promoting Baltic voices on a global stage has earned him well-deserved recognition.
Both Hummelvoll and Supin represent the best of European television production, pushing boundaries and telling stories that resonate with audiences worldwide. Their contributions to the industry, both creatively and professionally, make them deserving recipients of the Honorary TV Beats Producer Awards.
