A shocking incident unfolded in Phoenix, Arizona, as a hooded thief crashed a stolen car into a shoe and streetwear store in a daring smash-and-grab operation. The brazen act was captured on wild video footage, showing the criminal plowing through the glass doors and metal security gate of Restock Ave before making off with stolen merchandise in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The chaotic surveillance video revealed the thief crashing the car into a shoe display inside the store before frantically grabbing armfuls of clothes off the racks. Dressed in a hooded sweatshirt, the culprit then fled on foot through the mangled gate with the stolen goods, only to return moments later for more.

Store owner Chris Sotelo expressed shock and disbelief upon seeing the footage, as he and his employees worked to clean up the aftermath of the destructive break-in. Sotelo shared his frustration, stating, “I was just shocked. I didn’t know how to react. It’s a lot of hard work. I started this 10 years ago and got it to where it’s at now. For people to come and destroy it kinda sucks. But it’s part of life, you know, things happen.”

According to Sotelo, the burglar targeted the “expensive side” of the store, taking a few designer items during the heist. The extent of the damage and the exact value of the stolen merchandise remain unclear, but Sotelo suspected that the perpetrator may have scoped out the store beforehand.

The daring heist occurred at a particularly inconvenient time for the store owner, as he was gearing up for the busy back-to-school shopping season. Police confirmed that the vehicle used in the break-in was also reported stolen, and the suspect responsible for the smash-and-grab remains at large.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities working to apprehend the individual behind the bold act of theft and vandalism. The store owner and his team are left to pick up the pieces and assess the damage caused by the destructive break-in.
