HBO’s House of the Dragon has showcased numerous onscreen deaths, leading fans to wonder how these characters met their end in George R. R. Martin‘s book.
Much like its predecessor, Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon has experienced several leaks during its run on HBO. Game of Thrones, which aired from 2011 to 2019, was based on Martin’s fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire.
The conclusion of Game of Thrones saw Bran Stark crowned king, while Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was exiled to the Night’s Watch after killing Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). Sansa (Sophie Turner) became Queen of the North, Arya (Maisie Williams) journeyed west, and the destruction of King’s Landing left many viewers dissatisfied.
Meanwhile, House of the Dragon acts as a prequel, drawing from Martin’s 2018 novel Fire & Blood. The series is set hundreds of years before the events of GoT and delves into the history of Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestors.
Emma D’Arcy takes on the role of Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, while Matt Smith portrays her uncle, Prince Daemon Targaryen. The cast also includes Eve Best, Paddy Considine, Olivia Cooke, Fabien Frankel, Rhys Ifans, Sonoya Mizuno, and Steve Toussaint.
