Semi-retired golfer Lexi Thompson made her first appearance of the month at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open, following her last tournament at The Chevron Championship in April. However, Thompson faced challenges in the second round at Erin Hills Golf Course, landing her at T79 on the leaderboard as many other players were yet to complete their rounds. Despite a strong start in Round 1, Round 2 proved to be difficult for Thompson as she struggled through various obstacles, resulting in a score of 3-over par.

The beginning of Thompson’s second round saw her grappling with four bogeys in the first six holes, starting with a bogey on the par-4 hole 11. Despite the setbacks, she managed to score three consecutive birdies on holes 13, 14, and 15, providing a glimmer of hope. Thompson finished the round on a positive note with a birdie on the 18th hole, showcasing her resilience on the course.

Thompson’s performance improved on the front nine, where she scored a birdie on the par-4 hole 5 and maintained par on the remaining holes to end the round with an overall score of 3-over par. Despite the challenges faced during the second round, Thompson’s determination and skill on the course were evident as she navigated through the obstacles to finish the day on a strong note.

As a seasoned golfer with a successful career, Thompson’s performance at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open highlights her dedication to the sport and her ability to overcome challenges on the course. Fans and spectators can look forward to seeing Thompson’s continued success and resilience in future tournaments as she continues to showcase her talent on the golf course.
