Ozlo, the company known for its comfortable and easy-to-use Sleepbuds that help drown out outside noise for a better night’s rest, is now expanding its product into a platform. This move was initiated with a partnership between Ozlo and the meditation app Calm, and further solidified at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week as the company met with potential partners to broaden its reach.

The new partners that Ozlo is seeking to collaborate with could help the company tap into new audiences and establish a revenue model that goes beyond consumer hardware. By delving into software subscriptions and healthcare, Ozlo aims to offer premium features such as AI-powered tools and relief for individuals with tinnitus. In addition, Ozlo’s recent acquisition of a neurotech startup positions the company to venture into the medical device market.

Founded by former Bose employees, Ozlo has always envisioned building an ecosystem. CEO NB Patil highlighted that the company’s iOS and Android SDK allows for the integration of its features with third-party apps. For instance, Ozlo’s sensors can detect changes in body movements and respiration rates, which can be shared with partners like Calm to enhance the effectiveness of their content.

Furthermore, Ozlo is working on tinnitus therapy tools to address the ear-ringing issue that affects a significant portion of its customer base. Through a collaboration with Walter Reed Hospital, Ozlo found that playing specific masking frequencies overnight can alleviate tinnitus symptoms. These therapies will be available via subscription in the second quarter of 2026.

To complement its hardware offerings, Ozlo is also leveraging AI technology to provide customers with valuable insights into their sleep patterns. The introduction of Sleep Patterns within the app allows users to track their sleeping habits over time and identify factors that may be disrupting their rest. Additionally, Ozlo plans to introduce an AI agent that customers can interact with as a “sleep buddy,” offering personalized recommendations for better sleep.

By integrating with wearables and platforms like Apple’s HealthKit, Ozlo aims to provide a holistic approach to improving sleep quality for its users. With a focus on innovation and collaboration, Ozlo is poised to transform the sleep technology industry and enhance the well-being of its customers.

Enhancements in AI and IoT Connectivity

Ozlo, the innovative sleep technology company, is gearing up to introduce advanced features to its popular Sleepbuds. The upcoming upgrade will include AI capabilities that can connect with IoT devices like smart thermostats, allowing users to set the ideal sleeping temperature as soon as they open the case at night. This AI integration is slated for release in the second quarter.

Revamped Hardware and Exciting Insights

In addition to AI enhancements, Ozlo is working on a new-generation case for its Sleepbuds to address issues with earbuds not seating properly in the charger. The redesigned case features improved contours for a perfect fit and a Bluetooth button for easy pairing. The updated hardware, including a redesigned antenna and amplifier for enhanced noise cancellation, is expected to launch in Q2.

Furthermore, Ozlo is set to introduce a bedside speaker with similar functionality to the Sleepbuds, eliminating the need for earbuds while offering sleep tracking capabilities. This product, targeted at families with children and elderly individuals, will be a welcome addition to Ozlo’s lineup.

Similar to the popular Hatch alarm clock, Ozlo is exploring the addition of a light feature to gently wake users up in the future, although the launch timeline is still under consideration.

Strategic Acquisitions and Future Innovations

As part of its growth strategy, Ozlo recently acquired Segotia, an EEG-focused neurotech firm from Ireland, specializing in “hearable” technologies. This acquisition will enable Ozlo to incorporate brain-level insights into its consumer devices and develop real-time sleep intervention tools. The integration of EEG technology is set to launch in 2027, marking Ozlo’s entry into the medical products field.

To support its ambitious plans, Ozlo is in the process of closing a Series B funding round, with details expected to be announced soon. With a busy year ahead, Ozlo is focused on executing its new features and products efficiently to sustain its growth and expand its customer base.

The impact of social media on mental health

In today’s digital age, social media has become an integral part of our daily lives. From Facebook to Instagram to Twitter, we are constantly bombarded with information and updates from friends, family, and even strangers. While social media has its benefits, such as connecting with others and staying informed, it also has a dark side that can negatively impact our mental health.

One of the most significant ways that social media can affect our mental health is through comparison. With the rise of influencers and perfectly curated feeds, it’s easy to feel inadequate or envious of others. We may compare our own lives to the highlight reels of others, leading to feelings of insecurity and low self-esteem. This constant comparison can contribute to anxiety and depression, as we strive to live up to unrealistic standards set by social media.

Moreover, the constant exposure to negative news and online bullying can also take a toll on our mental health. The 24/7 news cycle and the spread of fake news can increase feelings of fear, anxiety, and helplessness. Additionally, cyberbullying on social media platforms can lead to feelings of isolation, shame, and even thoughts of self-harm. The anonymity of the internet can embolden people to say hurtful things they would never say in person, causing lasting emotional damage to the victim.

Furthermore, the addictive nature of social media can also have a detrimental impact on our mental health. Studies have shown that excessive use of social media can lead to feelings of loneliness, depression, and low self-esteem. The constant need for validation and likes can create a cycle of seeking external approval, rather than building self-confidence from within. This addiction to social media can also interfere with real-life relationships and activities, leading to further feelings of isolation and disconnection.

In order to mitigate the negative effects of social media on mental health, it’s essential to practice mindfulness and set boundaries. Taking breaks from social media, limiting screen time, and unfollowing accounts that trigger negative emotions can help protect our mental well-being. It’s also important to cultivate a healthy relationship with social media by focusing on meaningful connections, rather than comparison or validation.

Ultimately, social media can have a powerful impact on our mental health, both positive and negative. By being mindful of our usage and setting boundaries, we can harness the benefits of social media while protecting our mental well-being. It’s crucial to prioritize our mental health in the digital age and create a healthy balance between the virtual world and real life.
