Once these conditions are met, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune will start roaming in your active save file. The Legendary Beast that appears is determined by the starter Pokemon you chose at the beginning of the game. If you chose Bulbasaur, you’ll encounter Entei. To efficiently encounter these Legendary Beasts, you can use strategies like constantly resetting their spawn by going in and out of a grass patch, using Max Repels to prevent other spawns, and checking their location in the Pokedex after encountering them once. One recommended location for hunting them is Route 1, south of Viridian City.
When encountering Entei, Raikou, or Suicune, they will flee in the first turn. To increase your chances of capturing them, use Pokemon with abilities like Shadow Tag, moves like Mean Look or Block to prevent escape, and inflict status conditions like Sleep and Paralysis. Save before actively hunting and use Ultra Balls or Timer Balls for better catch rates.
In a single playthrough, you can only capture one of the Legendary Beasts based on your starter choice. To obtain all three, you will need to trade between versions.
