With the release of iOS 18, Apple Maps has introduced several new features aimed at enhancing the user experience and making it easier to save and organize your favorite places. One of the standout features is the ability to create lists of locations and add custom notes to them, providing a more comprehensive way to keep track of important spots.

Saving a place in Apple Maps is simple – just tap on a location on the map or drop a pin on a specific spot to bring up a place card. From there, you can add the location to your library by tapping the plus button in the top right corner of the card. You can also remove a saved location by tapping the plus button again.

In addition to saving places to your library, you can also pin them for easy access. Pinned items show up more prominently in Apple Maps and on the CarPlay interface, making it quicker to find your favorite spots. Furthermore, you can create curated lists of places by adding them to guides. Whether it’s a collection of landmarks in a city or the best coffee bars you’ve visited, guides allow you to organize your saved locations in a more structured way.

A new feature introduced in iOS 18 is the ability to add notes to a place card. These notes can include details about the menu, directions to the location, or any other information you want to remember. The notes are private and will reappear every time you open the place card, making it easy to reference them whenever needed.

To access your saved places in Apple Maps, tap on your Apple account profile picture and select Library. Here, you’ll find all the places you’ve saved, including pinned locations, locations saved to your library, and places saved in guides. You can easily navigate through your saved locations and edit the notes attached to them, share them with others, or delete them from your library.

With the ability to organize your saved places into guides, edit notes, and pin locations for quick access, Apple Maps in iOS 18 offers a more robust and user-friendly experience for managing your favorite spots. Whether you’re planning a road trip or just want to remember a special place, these new features make it easier than ever to save and organize your locations on Apple Maps.
