These creatures typically travel in packs, and provoking one wolf will trigger aggression from the entire group.
To capture a wolf for taming, players will need two essential items: Wolf Bait and Snare Trap. These items become available at Tier 2 of the Tech Tree once players reach Level 10. Crafting these tools at the Ranching Station requires specific materials, such as Raw Stringy Meat, Animal Fat, Spoiled Meat, Fiber, Stick, Rope, and Stone.
The process of taming a wolf involves setting up the Snare Trap in an area where wolves are present and baiting it with Wolf Bait. Players must then patiently wait nearby as the trap ensnares a wolf. Once caught, players must feed the wolf animal carcasses to maintain its hunger level above 25%. With a clear area devoid of threats, the wolf will become fully tamed within 10 minutes.
In the event that the wolf refuses to consume the animal carcass, players can add more Wolf Bait to the Snare Trap to entice the creature. A tamed wolf can prove invaluable in combat situations by defending the player from incoming dangers, simplifying combat encounters. Players also have the option to command the wolf to follow them or allow it to roam freely.
It is important to note that while pets in Icarus cannot perish due to hunger or thirst, neglecting to feed them will diminish their effectiveness in combat and exploration.
