Apple has recently introduced a new app called Invites, aiming to simplify the process of creating personalized event invitations using an iPhone or through the web. This app serves as Apple’s alternative to Partiful, a well-known invitation app that received Google Play’s Best App of 2024 award.

Invites offers a range of features including the ability to create and share invitations, RSVP to events, contribute to Shared Albums, and curate event soundtracks. To get started with creating an invitation, users are required to have an iCloud+ subscription, which is priced at 99 cents per month. However, RSVPing to events is open to all, whether they have an Apple Account or an Apple device.

To guide you through the process of setting up an event, customizing it with a shared album or playlist, and sending out invitations to guests, follow these steps:

Creating an Event Invite:
You can create an event using the Invites app on your iPhone or via the web at iCloud.com. The steps are similar regardless of the platform you choose. Simply tap on the plus sign or select “New Event” to initiate the process. Add a background image by choosing from your library, taking a new photo, or using Apple’s provided backgrounds. For more original images, utilize Apple’s Image Playground feature, available on compatible devices. Enter the event title, date, time, location, and description using Apple Intelligence’s Writing Tools for assistance. Preview your invitation before sending it out.

Creating a Shared Album or Playlist for Your Event Invite:
In addition to the basic event setup, Invites offers the option to create a Shared Album where attendees can contribute photos and videos. This feature aims to preserve memories from the event. To create a Shared Album, tap on the “Create Album” option. You can also create an event soundtrack by adding a playlist, allowing guests to contribute songs. Note that an Apple Music subscription is required for creating shared playlists.

Inviting Guests to Your Event:
You can invite guests by sharing a public link or sending direct invitations to specific individuals from your contact list. Choose the “Invite Guests” option to begin sending out invitations. Share the invite through Messages, Mail, or using a shareable link. Invite contacts by selecting them from your list and sharing the link with them. Additionally, you can send notes to all guests, such as location changes or weather updates, by selecting your event and tapping “Send a Note.”

In conclusion, Apple’s Invites app provides a user-friendly platform for creating and managing event invitations with added features like Shared Albums and playlists. Whether you’re planning a small gathering or a large event, Invites offers the tools you need to make your event memorable and engaging for all attendees.
