OpenAI has introduced app integrations in ChatGPT, allowing users to connect their accounts directly to ChatGPT and request the assistant to perform tasks on their behalf. For example, with Spotify integration, users can ask ChatGPT to create personalized playlists that will be visible in their Spotify app.
To begin using these integrations, users need to log into ChatGPT and mention the name of the desired app at the beginning of their prompt. ChatGPT will then guide them through the process of signing in and connecting their account to the app.
For a more streamlined setup, users can access the Settings menu, navigate to Apps and Connectors, and select the desired apps to link their accounts. It’s important to review the permissions being granted when connecting accounts as ChatGPT will have access to certain app data like playlists, listening history, and personal information.
Users have the flexibility to disconnect any app at any time directly from the Settings menu.
Available apps for integration include Booking.com, Canva, Coursera, DoorDash, Expedia, Figma, Spotify, Target, Uber, and Zillow. Each integration serves a specific purpose, such as helping travelers find accommodations, assisting graphic designers in creating visual content, and aiding in finding online courses on Coursera.
The integration with DoorDash allows users to plan meals and add ingredients to their cart quickly, while the Uber integration helps users find ride options and book Uber rides on-demand. Additionally, ChatGPT can suggest new music, playlists, and perform actions on Spotify accounts.
The rollout of these app integrations is currently limited to users in the U.S. and Canada, with plans to expand to Europe and the U.K. in the future. OpenAI also has plans to add more partners like OpenTable, PayPal, and Walmart in 2026. Stay tuned for more updates on ChatGPT’s evolving capabilities.
