The year is 2025, and Wimbledon tennis is back with a bang, offering viewers the chance to watch the games in stunning Ultra HD 4K resolution. If you’re eager to catch all the action in the highest quality possible, read on to find out how to live stream in Ultra HD, the supported devices, and the requirements like internet speeds that you’ll need to meet.

In the UK, where Wimbledon takes place, the BBC has been running 4K trials for various events, including the Euros football tournament in recent years. This means that viewers can enjoy the games in four times the resolution of Full HD, provided they have the right equipment.

The tournament kicked off on Monday, 30 June, and will run until Sunday, 13 July. So, let’s dive into how you can watch Wimbledon in maximum 4K quality to witness every swing of the racket and puff of chalk.

### Wimbledon 4K in the UK

If you’re in the UK, you’re in luck as you can watch live games in 4K (referred to as Ultra HD) thanks to the BBC, available across BBC One and Two. In a recent development, No.1 Court has also been upgraded to Ultra HD, alongside Centre Court.

According to the official Wimbledon site, “WBS provides multi-camera coverage of all 18 Championships courts in HDR, with Centre Court and No.1 Court also delivered in UHD.” This means that you can enjoy watching top players like Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and many more in crisp 4K detail. The men’s and women’s finals will also be shown in Ultra HD.

To watch Wimbledon in 4K, you’ll need the following:
– Fast enough internet
– A compatible 4K TV or streaming device
– A BBC account
– A valid TV license

When it comes to broadband speed, the BBC recommends a minimum of 24Mbps for the full 3840 pixel Ultra HD experience or 12Mbps for lower-res 2560p. If your Wi-Fi is unreliable, consider using an Ethernet cable to connect your TV or media player to your router for a more stable connection. Additionally, ensure that you have a compatible TV or media player to support 4K streaming.

Supported streamers and set-top boxes include Amazon Fire TV Cube, Virgin Media TiVo, and various Roku models. For a full list of compatible devices, you can visit the BBC website and search for your specific model number.

### Wimbledon Ultra HD in the US

In the United States, watching Wimbledon in 4K might be a bit challenging as platforms like ESPN+ and Tennis Channel Plus do not currently offer 4K streaming. ESPN+ is limited to 720p, while Tennis Channel’s site only mentions HD quality. However, you can still watch in 4K by using the BBC iPlayer with the method mentioned above. Please note that BBC America will not be broadcasting Wimbledon.

### Wimbledon Ultra HD Outside the UK

If you’re outside the UK and still want to watch Wimbledon in Ultra HD via the BBC iPlayer, you’ll need to take a few extra steps. Aside from meeting all the requirements mentioned earlier, you’ll also need to install a VPN on your TV or device to virtually browse from the UK to bypass geo-restrictions. We recommend using VPN services like NordVPN or SurfShark to access the BBC iPlayer from abroad.

Keep in mind that watching BBC iPlayer outside of the UK has additional restrictions, such as needing a valid TV license and a BBC account with a UK postcode.

In conclusion, with the right equipment, internet speed, and a valid TV license, you can enjoy watching Wimbledon in glorious 4K Ultra HD resolution. Whether you’re in the UK or abroad, follow the steps outlined above to catch all the thrilling tennis action in the highest quality possible.
