Huawei has unveiled its latest lineup of flagship smartwatches, the Watch GT6 series, boasting impressive battery life claims. The standout feature of the 46mm editions of the Huawei Watch GT6 and the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro is the advanced high-silicon stacked battery, offering 65% higher capacity than the previous Watch GT5 series. This results in an impressive 21 days of battery life for light users on the 46mm variants, while the smaller 41mm version of the regular Huawei Watch GT6 can last up to 14 days – a significant improvement compared to competitors like the Apple Watch Series 11 with its 38-hour estimate in Low Power mode.
The design of the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro is particularly striking, featuring premium materials such as sapphire glass, aviation-grade titanium alloy, and a nanocrystal ceramic rear cover. Available in brown, titanium, and black, the Pro model also boasts a sleek raised timing bezel and a 5.5% larger display with a peak brightness of 3000 nits. On the other hand, the regular Huawei Watch GT6 comes in various color options for both the 46mm and 41mm models.
In terms of fitness features, Huawei introduces cycling virtual power for the first time in smartwatches, providing cyclists with a precise way to measure riding intensity in real-time. The watches also offer enhanced features for trail running, skiing, and golf, along with the new Sunflower Positioning System for ultra-precise GPS readings. The TruSense system provides multiple health tracking metrics, including cardiovascular health monitoring and a new HRV metric for real-time assessment of training status.
Additionally, Huawei announced the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, expanding on the original Huawei Watch Ultimate outdoors sports watch with a 150-meter diving rating and sonar-based underwater communication. The Huawei Watch D2 blood pressure smartwatch is now available in blue.
The pricing for the Huawei Watch GT6 starts at £229 for the regular model and £329 for the Huawei Watch GT6 Pro, with a £30 discount offer for early buyers exclusive to the Huawei Store. Pricing for the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 was not provided ahead of the announcement, possibly indicating a more limited release. Overall, Huawei’s new smartwatches offer impressive features and battery life, making them a compelling option for fitness enthusiasts and tech-savvy consumers alike.
