Hulk Hogan’s Struggle with Pain Pills Revealed After Tragic Passing
Hulk Hogan, the iconic wrestling legend, was known for his physical prowess in the ring. However, behind the scenes, Hogan battled a different kind of opponent – his addiction to pain pills. In a candid confession, Hogan revealed that years of enduring injuries from his wrestling career led to his reliance on medication.
“I was hitting the pain pills hard because I’d had to endure 25 procedures, including ten to my back, facial operations from being kicked, knee and hip replacements, and abdominal and shoulder surgeries,” Hogan disclosed. “There was a period of time, about five or six years ago, when I was in crazy pain to the extent I couldn’t even function. I needed pain meds at that stage, that’s for sure.”
Despite his initial need for pain relief, Hogan admitted that he reached a breaking point where he realized he no longer required the medication. “It got to a point where I’d recovered from the tenth back surgery and the pharmacy would call me and say, ‘Your prescription’s ready,’ and like a dog chasing a bone, I’d go pick it up,” Hogan recalled. “Then, finally, I just looked at myself, and I said, ‘I’m not in pain. I don’t need this.'”
Unfortunately, Hogan’s battle with addiction was not the only struggle he faced in his later years. In May, Hogan underwent neck surgery to alleviate his discomfort and improve his overall well-being. The successful procedure allowed Hogan to return to work, but concerns about his health lingered.
Hogan’s appearance on Fox & Friends to promote his new wrestling league, Real American Freestyle, raised eyebrows among fans. Clad in a shirt that read “America First, Beer Second,” Hogan appeared pale and weathered, prompting speculation about his health. Despite his efforts to revitalize the wrestling scene, fans couldn’t overlook his altered appearance.
In addition to his health concerns, Hogan’s personal life also faced turmoil. His ex-wife, Linda, publicly accused him of deceit and infidelity, claiming that he had caused their family to fall apart. Despite Linda’s allegations, Hogan’s daughter Brooke defended her father, suggesting that the family drama was not solely his fault.
Tragically, news of Hulk Hogan’s passing shocked the wrestling community. Clearwater authorities confirmed that Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, had suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away at the age of 71. As fans mourn the loss of a wrestling icon, Hogan’s legacy as a fighter both in and out of the ring will be remembered.
