Hulk Hogan is venturing into a new chapter of his wrestling career with the launch of the Real American Freestyle Wrestling League. Teaming up with Eric Bischoff and renowned coach Israel Martinez, Hogan aims to bring a fresh and unscripted wrestling experience to fans. The league is set to kick off on August 30 in Cleveland, and Hogan has expressed his desire to have former President Donald Trump attend the event.
Having been a staunch supporter of Trump during his presidential campaign in 2024, Hogan is keen on having the former president ringside for the inaugural event. He plans to personally extend the invitation to Trump, hoping to add a touch of celebrity presence to the league’s debut.
Real American Freestyle is set to offer a unique take on traditional wrestling promotions, with a focus on real and unscripted freestyle wrestling. Hogan envisions both men’s and women’s divisions within the league, with athletes having the opportunity to showcase their skills and earn significant payouts. The league’s teaser promises athletes will “get paid to beat people up,” with potential earnings reaching seven figures.
In addition to the competitive aspect, Hogan plans to incorporate storytelling elements similar to popular talent shows like “The Voice.” Wrestlers’ backgrounds will be shared with fans before their matches, allowing viewers to connect with the athletes on a deeper level.
Reflecting on the league’s inception, Hogan credited the idea to his experience with Real American Beer Company. Inspired by Trump’s attendance at the NCAA Division I wrestling championships, Hogan sees great potential for Real American Freestyle to rival established entities like UFC and WWE.
With a vision of making the league as prominent as its counterparts, Hogan is determined to create an immersive and engaging wrestling experience for fans. As he sets his sights on the future of Real American Freestyle, Hogan remains optimistic about the league’s prospects and the impact it could have on the world of professional wrestling.
