Hulu has recently greenlit a pilot for a new comedy series created by Megan Ganz, as reported exclusively by Variety. The show, currently titled “Don’t Get High,” follows an alpha dork and her group of misfits as they attempt to start an anti-drug group at their high school in the hopes of making friends and influencing others. However, things don’t go according to plan.
Ganz, known for her work on the Apple TV+ comedy series “Mythic Quest,” will be serving as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the pilot. Joining her as executive producers are Adam Fishbach and Mara Herron, with 20th Television producing the show.
Having started her writing career at The Onion, Ganz has worked on various acclaimed shows such as “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “The Last Man on Earth,” and “Community.” She is also known for her role as an executive producer on “Mythic Quest” and its companion series “Side Quest.”
In the ever-evolving world of streaming, Hulu has been making strides with pilot orders. Alongside “Don’t Get High,” the platform is also working on a revival of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” with Sarah Michelle Gellar reprising her iconic role. Other projects in the pipeline include a reboot of “Prison Break” and a comedy pilot called “Group Chat,” based on LaLa Anthony’s book “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness.”
