Early Friday morning, police and sources reported the discovery of a human head and torso inside a trash bag outside a residence in Brooklyn.
The dismembered body was found on the sidewalk adjacent to 557 E. 21st St. in the Flatbush area, shortly after 9:14 a.m.
Sources indicated that the initial call was made to 311 regarding a âbad smellâ emanating from apartment 6F, which was later directed to the police via 911.
Upon their arrival, law enforcement verified that the remains belonged to a deceased male, according to authorities.
Reportedly, the building superintendent witnessed the boyfriend of the deceased disposing of the bags outside prior to the finding of the remains, sources claimed.
The city’s Chief Medical Examiner will also identify the remains’ owner and establish the cause of death, police stated.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
