Human remains have been discovered near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home in the upscale Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly, sparking fears of a potential serial killer on the loose. Police were called to Everett Avenue early Wednesday morning after a human leg bone was found.
According to reports from local NBC affiliate WJAR, the remains were promptly collected and transferred to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for further investigation. Residents in the area, like Taylor Day, were shocked by the unusual discovery so close to Swift’s mansion.
Day, who witnessed the police activity, described the scene as alarming and out of the ordinary for the typically quiet town of Westerly. She noted that the location of the leg bone was less than half a mile from Swift’s estate and the Ocean House, a luxury hotel frequented by celebrities.
The proximity to Swift’s home has raised concerns among residents, especially in light of recent discoveries of human remains in the Northeast. While police have stated that foul play is not suspected at this time, the community remains on edge, with some speculating about the possibility of a serial killer in the area.
Meanwhile, Swift is reportedly focused on renovating her Rhode Island mansion, adding on around 400 square feet to create an enlarged bedroom suite. The renovations are estimated to cost approximately $1.7 million, as Swift prepares to host her annual July Fourth celebration with friends.
