Netflix has officially announced that “The Hunting Wives” Season 2 is currently in production, much to the delight of fans of the drama series. Returning for the second season as series regulars are Karen Rodriguez as Deputy Salazar and Hunter Emery as Deputy Flynn. Branton Box, who portrays Sheriff Johnny, will also make a comeback in a guest star role.

The main cast members from Season 1, including Brittany Snow, Malin Akerman, Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit, and George Ferrier, are set to reprise their roles in Season 2. The official logline for the upcoming season teases a rift between Sophie (Snow) and Margo (Akerman), leading to a reunion filled with old secrets and new adversaries. The question of whether they are the hunters or the hunted will be at the forefront of the narrative.

Based on the book of the same name by May Cobb, “The Hunting Wives” is a gripping series produced by Lionsgate TV and 3 Arts Entertainment. Rebecca Cutter, the creative mind behind the adaptation for television, serves as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Erwin Stoff of 3 Arts Entertainment and May Cobb.

The first season of the series premiered on Netflix on July 21 and quickly gained popularity, spending five weeks on the Global Top 10 English language TV list despite being limited to the US audience initially. Originally developed for Starz, Netflix acquired the US rights, with international distribution rights being a crucial factor in the decision to renew the show for a second season. The upcoming season will be available to viewers in nearly all countries where Netflix is accessible.
