“Made in Korea” is set to return for its second season on September 9, exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu. The crime noir series will see the return of stars Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung, and Woo Dohwan, continuing their roles in this six-episode installment.
In the upcoming season, Baek Kitae, portrayed by Hyun Bin, continues his ascent to power after framing prosecutor Jang Geonyoung. Now positioned as the deputy director in the Korean CIA, Kitae has expanded his wealth and influence, alongside his drug operations across the region. As political unrest and public dissatisfaction intensify, Geonyoung, played by Jung Woosung, emerges from hiding to pursue a decade-long revenge plan. The series follows the escalating conflict between the two men as they strive to eliminate each other. Woo Dohwan reprises his role as Baek Kihyun, Kitae’s brother.
Park Eunkyo, who penned the first season, returns as the writer for Season 2, with previous works including “The Silent Sea” and “Mother.” Woo Minho, known for directing the first season as well as “The Man Standing Next” and “Inside Men,” resumes his role as director. Production is handled by Hive Media Corp, known for projects like “Inside Men,” “The Man Standing Next,” and “12.12: The Day.”
The season will debut with a two-episode premiere on September 9, continuing with two new episodes each Wednesday until September 23.
The first season of “Made in Korea” became the top-viewed Korean original series premiere on Disney+ in the Asia-Pacific region in 2025. It followed Kitae’s journey as an ambitious KCIA agent living a double life, operating as a government official by day and managing an illegal smuggling operation by night. His rise to power led to a clash with Geonyoung, a prosecutor who could not be bought.
Disney+ and Hulu also offer other Korean dramas, including both seasons of “A Shop for Killers,” “The Manipulated,” a story of a man seeking revenge after a wrongful conviction, and “Tempest,” which revolves around a conspiracy threatening the stability of the Korean Peninsula.
